POLICY DOCUMENTS FOR THE PRIZE DAY Purpose: This document has been prepared to conduct the W.L.T.S prize day in an efficient manner. This document also outlines the criteria for the best performers and other prizes. This document will be reviewed at the beginning of each year and will be distributed to the members on the first week of September. Policy: Board of Governors will appoint a sub-committee to plan and conduct the prize day. The committee shall consist of the following people. (1). Head Master (2). The Chairman (3). Teacher (4). Two Parents (5). Parent Governor The sub-committee shall take the full responsibility for the conduct of the prize day including the selection of the best performers and other prizes. The sub-committee shall meet time to time to discuss the prize day and prepare a plan to conduct the prize day. The sub-committee shall review the percentage of marks required to qualify for the best performers each year. W.L.T.S will fund £500 towards the prize day. Expenses above £500 must be met by the members of W.L.T.S. The sub-committee shall prepare a budget and submitted to the Treasurer. It is proposed that the parents shall contribute £5 per child towards the prize day. The sub-committee shall decide the venue and invite the chief guest and other guests. There shall be only three prizes. Each Tamil class shall have three prizes and each Fine Arts group shall qualify for three prizes (if applicable). Criteria for qualifying the prizes as follows; (1). The students must achieve 65% (average of the three terms, or the average of two term for those enrolled after January) in Tamil Language. (2). The students must achieve 70 %(average of the three terms, or the average of two term for those enrolled after January) of any one Fine Arts subject only. Criteria for qualifying the Best performers prizes as follows; (1). The students must achieve 65% (average of the three terms) in Tamil Language. (2). The students must achieve 70 % (average of the three terms) of any one Fine Arts subject only. (3). The students must achieve 70% in Thirukkural competition. (4). The students must achieve 70% in Elocution competition. (5). The students must achieve 50% in Project works. (6). The students must have participated in sports day. (7). The students must have attended at least two terms including third term. (8). The students must have at least 90% attendances (9). Students shall have no arrears in their tuition fees as at 1st of July. (10). Students who enters any service to the school of one’s own free will. Any issues not listed in this document shall be referred to the board of Governors.

POLICY DOCUMENTS FOR THE SPORTS DAY
Purpose: This document has been prepared to conduct the W.L.T.S Sports Day in an efficient manner. This document also outlines the criteria for the participants. This document will be reviewed at the beginning of each year and will be distributed to the members on the first week of September. (1). Board of Governors will appoint a sub-committee to organise and conduct the sports day. The committee shall consist of the following people. ▪ Head Master ▪ The Chairman ▪ Treasurer ▪ Parent Governor ▪ Teacher ▪ Two Parents (2). The Senior Prefect will carry the school flag during the march past. (3). The Senior Prefect cannot be a captain of any house but shall participate in the sports day. (4). W.L.T.S students must have attended at least two terms including third term and have no arrears in their tuition fees as at 1st of July. (5). W.L.T.S. sports day is open to all communities of the West London. However participants Other than the W.L.T.S members and the students have to pay a fee set by the Sub-committee. (6). Points scored by non W.L.T.S members and students will not be counted for any houses. (7). Each house must have at least 25 students. It the number of students exceeded ninety, and then a forth house may be formed which is the maximum number of houses permitted. (8). The cost of the house decorations shall be beard by the students of the respective houses. (9). During sports day the referee’s decisions shall be final. (10). A certificate shall be issued to all participants. (11). The participants with the highest points in each age group will be crowned as the group champions and will receive a champion cup. (12). The house with the highest points will be crowned as winners and will receive a shield, which will be collected and held by the house captain until the next sports day. (13). A separate document will also be issued to all the houses on the first day of the practice. Sub-committees responsibilities ▪ The Sub-committee shall take full responsibility of the heats and sports day. ▪ The Sub-committee shall appoint referees for this activity. ▪ The Sub-committee shall nominate captains for each house. ▪ The Sub-committee shall assign the students for each house. ▪ The Sub-committee shall appoint a first-aide for this activity. ▪ The Sub-committee shall meet time to time to discuss and plan for the sports day. ▪ The Sub-committee shall refer to the board of Governors for issues not listed in this document. ▪ The Sub-committee shall nominate a person or persons to present the trophies and certificates. ▪ The Sub-committee shall be responsible for the health & safety of students during the sports day. ▪ The Sub-committee shall plan the sports day and heats. The plan will be circulated to the members of the W.L.T.S. ▪ The Sub-committee shall liaise with the local authority and other sponsors to raise fund for the sports day. ▪ The Sub-committee shall maintained an account for the sports day and publish to the W.L.T.S members. Any issues not listed in this document shall be referred to the board of Governors.
